NOS and Servers

Minimum hardware requirements suggested by software vendors are simply a set of hardware requirements to run a software barebone with basic functionality to simply run the software,  A such, most networks rely on servers that exceed such requirements as every situation varies,

The following is a list of factors to consider when determining the optimal hardware for your servers:
  • Number of clients that will connect to the server.
  • Types of applications that will run on the server.
  • Storage space requirements for each user.
  • Downtime tolerance, if any.
  • Cost and affordability for the organization afford.

In short, the minimum hardware requirements consist of the highest of each factor from the complete set of server, applications, services, disaster recovery requirements.
